大谷翔平 山本由伸 WBC 試合後コメント
井端弘和監督が試合後の会見で、山本由伸の降板理由と大谷翔平の起用について語りました。
Japan lost to Venezuela 8-5 in the World Baseball Classic, and Team Japan manager Hirokazu Ibata addressed several key decisions from the game.
Ibata explained that Yoshinobu Yamamoto was planned to throw around 60 pitches and that the fourth inning was likely the limit from the beginning of the game.
He also discussed the strength of Venezuela’s hitters and how their ability to handle fastballs created challenges for Japan’s pitching staff.
When asked about the possibility of Shohei Ohtani pitching in relief, Ibata said it’s difficult to know what would happen without actually trying it, but suggested that if Ohtani were going to pitch, the team likely would have preferred to start him.
Japan continues to evaluate the performance as international competition continues to grow stronger around the world.
